2020 SURVEY SEASON
SARA BECK
Lead Technician
After spending the previous summer working as a non-invasive sampling technician for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, I returned to Unity College to earn my Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Biology in May of 2020. I am looking forward to using my previous experience with noninvasive sampling and my interest in black bear research and management during the sampling season.
DAN MAXFIELD
Seasonal Technician Intern
I am originally from Forks, Washington, and I'm majoring in Fish and Wildlife Management at Unity College in Maine. I look forward to working on my summer internship monitoring non-invasive hair traps for the Penobscot Black Bear Study.

Hello! My name is Apemesim (Bem) Galipeau. My mother is passamaquody and my father being penobscot makes me both. I love to canoe, be active, and be outside. I have worked with the ways program close to a year now and am excited to keep working with you!

2018 SURVEY SEASON

Thesis Student
In 2018, I lead hair trapping surveys in one of Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's bear study area. I also ran a successful crowdfunding campaign to support this work.
